PST files (Personal Folder files): this is the most common format, being used by the Windows version of Outlook 2003 (or newer) to store received, sent & draft emails on your local hard disk. A data file can be located on your local disk or on a network path. To put it simple, an Outlook data file is a file where Outlook stores your emails, tasks and other Outlook related information.
